Role Overview

As a Cargo Operations Agent, your primary duty will be to handle and process all cargo, courier, and mail within designated areas of the cargo warehouse and airside operations. This critical role helps maintain the high service standards that Emirates SkyCargo is renowned for, while ensuring adherence to strict safety and security protocols. Key Responsibilities

As a Cargo Operations Agent, you will:

• Cargo Handling & Processing: Oversee a team in managing cargo, courier, and mail activities, conducting safety briefings to ensure a secure work environment.

• Inspection & Verification: Inspect, verify, and count goods at various stages of cargo handling, ensuring compliance with standards. Update shipment details in SkyChain, providing customers with real-time tracking.

• Coordination with Authorities: Liaise with customs, health, and police authorities to facilitate smooth cargo movement and meet regulatory requirements.

• Safety Compliance: Handle dangerous goods in line with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, ensuring the safe transport of time- and temperature-sensitive shipments under EU Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.

• Planning & Monitoring: Plan cargo loading into Unit Load Devices (ULDs) or aircraft holds for optimal space utilization, and monitor loading/unloading to prevent discrepancies or damage.

• Quality Assurance: Track cargo delivery times from the ramp to the warehouse, reporting deviations to improve service quality.

Qualifications & Experience

To thrive in this role, you will need:

• Education & Experience: A minimum of 10 years of schooling or equivalent, with at least 2 years of experience in air cargo, logistics, or cargo terminal handling.

• Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of aircraft handling, ramp handling, and cargo terminal procedures. Experience with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) is an advantage.

• Technical Competence: Proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with SkyChain (or similar systems) is a plus. Completion of basic cargo handling and dangerous goods certification (Category 8) is required.

• Language Proficiency: Fluent in both written and spoken English to communicate effectively with team members and authorities.
